i havent been watching for more than 5 years but it was best back then. I could never wait for the monday morning at 6 oclock when i would sneak downstairs and watch a taped ppv. When the rock lost i was always gutted and would be really mad at school all day. When the spoilers started coming too me and i began too relise what it actually was i would say it ruined it. The web in general ruined wrestling. How many times do you here "oh that was a great show" it is always negative even if the show was good the web picked out the bad points. This in turn made me see the bad parts of wrestling which tbh is the reason why we all think its crap today. I never noticed botches or blade jobs or talking before i began surfing the web. But now i see everything negative in a match. I hate that in a way i never look forward too a ppv i couldnt care less if i miss it or didnt watch it. Whereas say 3 years ago i would have been in a fit if it hadnt taped etc. the web sucks and thats final On another thread Fenlon talked about how the web spoiled his wrestling. I thought this would make a good discussion. The Web has destroyed wrestling in the way they portray it. There is never a Raw or Smackdown that goes by that we sit back and say "WOW that was a great show" becuase we have either read the spoilers or the internet reviews on the web. Its like they brain wash you to agree whatever they say. I have always stayed away from spoilers and always will. That way i have always enjoyed wrestling and will keep enjoying it. I think the only way people would get interested in the WWE is if they stay away from the internet. Whats is your views on this?

You might have a very valid point Wrestlemania. I will admit that back before the days of the internet wrestling in general did seem a lot more exciting. But you know there has to be a but lol. Anyway if you take the WWE product as a whole i really think the WWE has went to shit. And some may be because of the net, but in my opinion its more the fault of the Dumbass WWE writers. I mean look at some of the cool stuff that was written during the hey day from 97 to 00 Austins rise to power the Rock, DX & all the cool storylines. Now what have they done since 01 to the present that really stands out. Not much! I guess to make a long story short the finger of blame can be pointed a lot of places, but when it all comes down to it the WWE has to take responsability for there low ratings & attandance.

WWE do have themselves too blame in a way, but they can never do anything good because it is always ripped too shreads by dick head writers on the internet
I wouldnt see the product as a bad product before i started reading stuff on the internet. I enjoyed watching the 2001 alliance crap. See i now realise it blew big time. theres limited fans now who dont know how the buisness works and its because they havent been exposed too the internet.
My example of how the internet ruined wrestling is mania 20. When taker returned it was supposed too be a really kool significant part of the show. But i only heard bad things about it. "His attire sucked", "didnt match the hype it was given" etc. Before i started reading the internet when someone returned i was really hyped for it even if it wasnt something special. My mate who doesnt read the internet loved takers return and was hyped all day and nite. I didnt give a shit. Mania 20 was also a really good event when you look at it ffs it made me watch it for 5 hours it must have been good. But all i hear is how shitty it was.
Bobbys best ppv discussion - he mostly tells us how bad the event was even tho there were good parts in each ppv. (barring jday and gba)
They spoil the TV and the product
the web sucks

I think youre forgetting one thing Fenlon. The Undertakers ring attire did suck. & his in ring work is not what it used to be. So how is that the fault of the internet. I mean you would have to be blind to say that Takers get up was cool. I mean it was hyped for months the return of the Deadman. Then what do we get a cross breed version of the American badd ass & the Deadman. I respect your opinion but the problem with WWE in my opinion is WWE.

I guess we both have out opinions on the topic but i still belive that the internet showed us the bad parts of wrestling that makes us diss it more.

Bobbys best ppv discussion - he mostly tells us how bad the event was even tho there were good parts in each ppv. (barring jday and gba) I did pointed out the bad things of a ppv most, but I pointed at the good things as well. In my opinion, a PPV shouldn't have bad matches. People pay a lot of money to see a PPV and don't get their money back in good matches. WrestleMania XX had some real shit matches, you can't blame the internet for that, just like all the other PPV's. I am not influenced by the opinions on the internet. nWo Souled Out 1997 is considered to be a shit ppv. I really enjoyed the show. The net doesn't spoil wrestling, wrestling does it all by itself

i think u lot are getting me wrong.
I mean the internet has ruined wrestling by the way it has influenced me as a fan.
Agreed its not its fault for shit ppv's etc
its the way the internet fans portray wrestling it makes me think it sucks whereas it actually doesnt.

One thing i never understood is these days the excpectation is too high for a ppv event. I mean in the good old days a ppv card had matches like Deisel vs Mabel or Doink&Dink vs Bigelow&Luna etc. etc. But we never complained becuase we enjoyed the entertainment aspect as it was those lovable characters vs someone you hate. That internet has screwed all that up and forces us to like guys like Kurt Angle, Chris Benoit, HBK etc all becuase they put on great matches. And even when they do put on a great match the internet knocks them for not living up to the hype. The internet is a disgrace to wrestling
